David Muriithi, popularly known as DJ D-Lite, is a creative entrepreneur, emcee, keynote speaker, event and talent manager, music promoter and realtor.
David, a retired Ernst & Young auditor, has also manifested his creative expression through his alter ego, the very popular DJ D-Lite. His Deejaying career has seen him travel around the world and has played in concerts featuring various Grammy-Award winning acts such as Run DMC, Kool & The Gang, Simply Red, Brand New Heavies, James Taylor Quartet, Blackstreet, SWV, James Ingram, Freddie Jackson, Hugh Masekela. Back home he has featured in major local events such as the Safaricom Jazz Festivals, Blankets & Wine, Koroga Festival amongst others. He had the honour to curate and play music for former US President Barack Obama during his recent visit to Kenya in 2018.
He currently runs the Creative Enterprise Centre, a regional capacity building hub whose main focus is formulating and implementing various strategies that enhance professionalism within the creative industry.
His passion for mentoring young talents has seen him feature in global conversations on the advancement of the Creative Economy. A champion of private-public sector partnerships, David has also been contracted by both Government institutions and NGOs to help them address long term sustainability issues. He has previously served as a Board Member on the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO). David also sits as a Trustee of the UK- based Rumi Foundation that aims at fostering education, innovation and art.
