Munyu Primary School Renovation Project
Munyu Primary School, located in Kieni Constituency in Nyeri County, is one of the oldest schools in Kenya. The classrooms dates pre-independence era and are now in advanced stages of structural deterioration posing a risk to learners. The ablution facilities are also in a poor physical condition exposing users to hygiene-related diseases.
The school’s Alumni Community, together with the Rotary Club of Lang’ata (RCL), plans to upgrade the school’s classroom and ablution facilities. This project will be carried out in phases with Phase I expected to cost Kshs. 5,425,753.
- Replace old timber classroom blocks with modern masonry buildings;
- Build, furnish and equip a new library;
- Purchase of new desks;
- Install water harvesting structures including collection gutters and tanks; and
- Build and equip a children’s’ play area.
