Speakers of the Season: David Hunter

David Hunter: Sonic Intervention

Call it a case of the Hunter being hunted when the ladies thronged fellowship at The Rotary Club of Nairobi Lang’ata on Thursday 13th August, to listen to David Hunter speak on the interesting topic of Sonic Intervention.
From the mere look of the invitation poster, the WhatsApp groups buzzed in anticipation with heated discussions days before the actual talk.
Sonic intervention is the use of sound to change our experience of the world by either negatively or positively affecting our emotions. David put up a convincing argument on why sonic intervention is important in our lives, by giving examples of how sound can be an agent to alter mood, levels of relaxation, ability to recall events, focus among others.
The swallowship session was quite interesting with numerous club members wanting to know more about David. He graciously stayed on and answered most of the questions about who he is, his marital status and left us his personal email address for further follow-up. Obviously, most of the questions came from the ladies, and there were even suggestions that David is now a replacement to our home-grown Mr Muscles, Marlon Lugadiru.
